Design Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per year

JOB ROLE BASED IN LONDON OR EAST GRINSTEAD, WEST SUSSEX
Our client are a network service provider, bringing together mobile operators, central and local government and real estate providers to work together in new ways using collaborative commercial models, combined real estate and telecoms know-how and global best practice.
Key responsibilities
Carry out internal duties in the following areas:-
1. Act as the main interface into client with regard to the following areas under senior supervision:-
* Prepare test equipment for surveys
* Perform RF and Design Surveys for inbuilding systems – DAS or Small cells
* Perform RF Modelling and design using iBwave or RanPlan
* Review results, drawings and reports conducted by others
* Perform design criteria/requirements, system dimensioning, link budget and traffic analysis
* Complete RAMS and abide by company H&S policy
* Daily update to Design Manager on progress and raise issues swiftly
* Update project managers and co-ordinators as required
* Provide estimated effort and resources required for particular tasks
* Update the project folder on the network drive as appropriate
2. Carry out internal duties in the following areas:-
* To assist in the smooth running of the office, this may involve administration duties
* Informing the Project Manager as and when any work is completed and needs invoicing
* Maintaining good client relations
Knowledge and experience
* Experience of in-building design tools such as iBwave or RanPlan
* Experience with survey capture and analysis tools such as TEMS investigation, TEMS Discovery, Nemo
* Some experience of RF interference troubleshooting, using PIM testers, cable testers would be ideal
* Experience of Carrier Wave testing, post-integration testing, existing coverage testing
* Experience of producing detailed design reports
