Warehouse Team Leader

Salary: £30,000 per year

Gi Group are proud to be working with a distribution service in Duckmanton,Chesterfield who are currently looking for a warehouse team leader on a permanent contract.

Due to the nature of the role you would need to start 15 minutes early to ensure the work is set up and brief staff at 8am to ensure the team understand the daily plan and previous days performance.

The working hours are Monday to Friday 7:45pm while 16:15pm.

Annual salary-£30,000

Duties include:

1. To be responsible for the Health and Safety of the employees within the team, and of anyone coming into the area of work.

2. To agree a plan with the Operations Planning Manager (OPM) and be responsible for meeting the agreed plan, and to organise and deploy the team in such a way that the plan can be achieved.

3. To be able to understand, explain and rectify any deviations from the agreed plan on an hourly basis to the OPM.

4. To attend daily production meetings to go through previous days performance and agree next days plan.

5. To ensure that the team is focused on meeting objectives with respect to quality and driving to minimise errors in asset/product/container movement.

6. To liaise with other Team Leaders and assist in sharing resource so that each team can meet their defined plans and objectives.

7. To ensure staff are adhering to working hours, breaks and carrying out work as instructed. If staff are not adhering to above ensure they are spoken to and if still no positive resolution escalate to OPM or OM.

8. To mentor, train, support and develop Deputies to a point where a Deputy can deputise as a Team Leader in cases of absence.

9. To mentor, train to SOP’s, support and develop operatives within the team so that the teams are trained across the business functions so that the business can continue to meet the changing customer requirements.

Experience needed for the role will be the following;

1. Working within a busy warehouse environment
2. Experience managing a team of more than 15 people
3.Experience working on an FLT would be ideal
4.Hitting KPIs on a daily basis
5.Previous experience working
