Salary: £54,000 – £66,000 per year
My client are one of the fastest growing precision engineering firms in the area, with an impressive order book further strengthening their growth over the months and years to come. Following a period of investment and business restructure, they are looking to recruit an experienced Planning and Supply Manager to their group leadership team.
Reporting into the Commercial Director, your role will be to manage production schedules and inventory to ensure optimised manufacturing efficiency, batch sizes, stock and delivery costs to customer requirements and timelines. Leading the creation and implementation of best practice capacity & production planning vision, S&OP implementation, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance, your role will be to ensure OTIF delivery to customers every time.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
– Responsible for production and supply planning across the group and the ongoing continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
– Lead capacity planning activities ensuring delivery against operational requirements which optimise manufacturing efficiency and costs.
– Work with purchasing to ensure gross materials are purchased on time and in full.
– Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the S&OP process.
– Manage deviations from the plan and identify potential delays within the production schedule and adjust schedules accordingly to meet customer demand – including communication through the business, to enable the business to adequately communicate through to customers
– Measure, monitor and report on Planning KPIs for capacity and demand, identify capacity constraints and provide analysis where needed.
Ideally you will qualified to at least HND or C&G level in an planning, supply chain or business administration related subject, and possess at least 3-5 years experience in a similar role within an engineering or manufacturing based business. Hands on experience of capacity and supply planning in a manufacturing/engineering environment is essential, along with extensive experience of running a S&OP approach across a business, including significant experience of building capacity/forecasting models and plans and undertaking complex analysis to create information used to enhance business processes across the group.
