Our client is a global engineering company based in West Yorkshire. As part of their transition and entering new markets they now require an experienced Planning Manager.
The main tasks involve the following:
To convert sales orders in to finished product through the internal systems.
To Head & lead the planning department to ensure the planning function is structured, resourced & capable of fulfilling short, medium & long term activities.
Design & execution of processes, including; demand segmentation, network optimisation, demand and sales & operation planning plus master scheduling.
The role will work with the Head of Planning to ensure that the planning function is structured, resourced and capable of fulfilling short, medium and long term, strategic and operational planning activities.
The role will play an active role in the design and execution of all planning processes, including: demand segmentation, network optimization, demand planning, sales and operations planning, capacity planning, production planning / master scheduling and production scheduling.
The Planning Manager is required to ensure all sales orders are converted, planned and managed throughout the entire demand management process.
Additionally, you will be required to furnish the Supply Chain vendor managers with a clear and concise demand profile of Products and Services in order to maintain overall continuity of Parts supply in line with planned production requirements.
The primary focus is on upfront management of the planning team to plan, schedule and improve the on-time delivery performance of the business.
Management of the interface between the planning function and the sales, engineering, finance, procurement and operations functions is essential.
Your success would be ultimately measured on increasing on-time delivery to customers, reducing lead time, increasing resource utilization and reduction of inventory.

Education/ Experience:
Engineering / Manufacturing experience is essential.
Degree-level education preferred although several years experience in a similar role is more important.
S&OP, production planning & production scheduling experience is essential
APICS trained – Preferred but not essential
Excellent problem solving skills
Project Management/planning capability
Strong continuous improvement experience
Excellent People Management skills are essential
