Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year
Our client is a specialist in high quality commercial training, due to growth they are seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll professional to work directly with apprentices and learners who are looking to complete a qualification within payroll.
Ideally you will be an experienced payroll professional at senior or management level.
We are looking for someone who really wants to make an impact to a learner, to be able to deliver the knowledge and mentor progress.
You do not need to be a qualified assessor to apply… my client can complete your teaching qualification with you and if required can also assist you to gain your CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification.
As part of this role, you will continue to complete a small monthly live payroll to keep your occupational skills current and enable you to teach using live data.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Payroll professional to advance their career whilst coaching others who are new or advancing in the payroll sector.
This is an office-based role in Derby but will include travel to attend visits.
As the new Payroll Trainer, your role will be challenging and diverse involving:
* Delivering the apprenticeship/ qualification training in the classroom environment.
* Assessing and supporting and motivating learners towards the successful completion of their qualification.
* Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely classroom sessions and learner outcomes are achieved in a timely manner.
* Providing attendance and feedback reports.
* Using e-portfolio system to record learner’s progress.
* Ensuring all learners are given constructive feedback on growing their knowledge, skills and behaviours.
* Establishing and maintaining professional working relationship with employers, ensuring that they are informed and part of the learning journey for their workforce.
* Promote and embed Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent and Health and Safety to all learning sessions.
* Maintain KPIs set by the Senior Leadership Team and the Board
Payroll trainer requirements:
* The ability to communicate well with people at all ages and learning level.
* Clear verbal and written communication skills.
* The ability to build and nurture relationships.
* The ability to collaborate with others and contribute towards targets.
* Experience of successful teamwork.
* Ability to work under pressure and deal with high workload.
* You will have a natural empathy with people and a genuine desire to help people achieve.
* Experience of liaising with employers and external agencies.
* Industry experience at senior or managerial level
Desirable but non-essential:
* A full drivers’ licence, access to own vehicle
* Strong IT skills
* Prior experience of working within apprenticeships / education or with unemployed individuals.
* CIPP qualification or equivalent.
* Experience of working in a payroll environment, industry, or practice.
* Understanding of current payroll procedures and regulations, manual and computerised processes to enable effective and successful delivery of Accounting skills and behaviours relevant to the course.
* Teaching or assessing qualification
