Operations Manager

Operations Manager, Preston / Belfast, £50K – £60k + CAR + Benefits

My client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to be part of the management team for one of Europe’s leading suppliers of logistical services throughout the UK and Ireland and at this time there is a need for an experienced General Manager, Operations to assist the Operations Director. This is a senior position, which will involve the successful applicant in the proactive operational management of a well established logistics business. The General Manager, Operations will hold overall responsibility for the transport operation.

Key responsibilities

Implementing the company strategic plan.
Manage the operations team.
Oversee the business performance including
Productivity Measurement.
Delivering KPI’s.
Resource Planning.
Optimisation of fleet.
On time Delivery.
Working alongside the sales team to help bring in new contracts. Skills & Experience:

While not essential it would be an advantage if candidates were able to demonstrate an understanding of groupage, tankfreight and refrigeration.
Management Experience leading teams and business processes for at least 10 years
Proven Track record of delivering tangible business results
Excellent analytical and conceptual problem solving skills
Excellent customer service skills
Experience in airfreight and / or road freight Personal attributes:
