The Background
I am recruiting for an Operations Manager to join one of the UK’s leading Construction Contractors to join their Power Transmission and Distribution business to lead all Substation delivery activities and help grow the existing business from its current levels. You will also be responsible for managing and developing the team to ensure they reach their long term potential whilst providing excellent leadership and delivering an enhanced level of service to the client.

The Role
As Operations Manager you will lead Project Managers to optimise resources, help increase the workbook and support in reducing costs. This will involve producing and updating business plans to ensure that the company and the client’s goals and values are met. As part of this role you will hold meeting with both client and company representatives and use feedback to help in ensuring the service is delivered at an excellent level. In an ever changing industry it is important that you keep up to date with the latest developments and you will also take ownership of providing detailed monthly reports.

To be a successful Operations Manager you will have gained previous experience of managing substation construction up to 400kV and in these roles you will have gained excellent leadership, communication and people and management skills. You will have a strong track record of tendering and managing projects as well as managing relationships with sub-contractors. It is important that you have a detailed knowledge and understating of risk management analysis, construction design management and business assurance systems as well as commercial awareness of both financial and budgetary control.
