MATERIAL PLANNER
STOKE ON TRENT
FULL TIME
PERMANENT
£22,500
THE ROLE
* Creating purchase orders using the businesses ERP system
* Making amendments to forecasting systems where necessary to minimise stock without jeopardising supply
* Liaising with suppliers to obtain delivery information on outstanding purchase orders
* Taking corrective actions to minimise disruption of supply
* Communicating expected delivery dates to internal and external stakeholders by maintaining the ERP system
* Working with the Senior Planner, developing and implementing processes and collaborating with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives
* Monitoring inventory levels against budget, taking corrective action when necessary
* Providing monthly performance and analysis reports to the Senior Planning Manager
* Monitoring trends in supply and demand, highlighting issues to the Buying team and working together on solutions
* Monitoring and managing obsolescence within the supplier base to deliver year on year reduction of write offs
* Liaising with the Category Specialists with regards to daily supply issues, supplier performance and inventory management to aid their management of the supplier
* Supporting supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for products is met
* Supporting assessment and sourcing of suppliers in conjunction with members of the purchasing team
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Previous experience in Materials Planning
* Experience in using ERP based systems
* High level of numeracy & literacy
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (to include PivotTables and Vlookups)
