Material Planner

Salary: £26,000 per year

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Material Planner for a 6 Month contract based in Bristol.

Purpose of the Material Plannerr Role:

As a MRPC, you will be responsible for a portfolio of suppliers and managing their deliver and quality performance. You will be the primary business interface for your suppliers and operate effective supplier relationships with the external supply chain, demonstrated through the satisfaction of demand requirements whilst optimising inventory. You will ensure ERP process and system compliance by ensuring data integrity.

This MRP Controller sits within the Repair Team with a particular focus on the repair of gas turbine components and Tooling, they deal mainly with the supplier side and follow the repair process through from beginning to end.

They can be flexible on experience as long as the candidate has a good knowledge and experience of the supply chain process. Obviously aerospace experience would be the ideal but they have had candidates before that have come from the automotive industry, white goods, aftermarket part industries, possibly a tooling supplier. The emphasis is on repair rather then ‘new parts’

As a Material Planner you will be responsible for:

To be the primary interface and lead operational relationships with suppliers and co-ordinate all improvement activity associated with planning, control, inventory, delivery and lead time.
To lead business reviews with suppliers ensuring that both the suppliers and Rolls-Royce requirements are being met considering the impact of Quality and Delivery.
To ensure specified supplier delivery commitments are reflected in SAP
To ensure the maintenance of component planning data and dynamic data that will enable cascade of demand through the supply chain resulting in a committed plan.
Respond to supplier enquiries and manage adherence of schedule lines to ensure delivery to plan
Interface with internal customers at delivery reviews and action any queries that are raised
To be process compliant through the use of company standard systems, processes and reports to resolve potential delivery hazards.
To ensure paperwork and information transfer in relation to all part movements is compliant with business and regulatory requirements.What we require from the Material Planner:

Ideally degree qualified in a relevant discipline or a professional procurement qualification, Ideally with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or relevant experience.
in procurement and contract management.
Preferably in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing engineering business.
A good knowledge of industry recognised procurement & ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Ability to work in a challenging and pressured environment as well as quickly understanding the complex organisations, functions, supply chains, regulations and processes.
