Salary: £36,000 – £60,000 per year
Hydraulic Design Engineer (3D CAD) – industrial environment/heavy engineering background – offshore oil and gas, submarine telecom, defence and renewables company – based Northumberland – competitive salary to be discussed at interview plus bonus, pension and BUPA.
We are looking for a Hydraulic Design Engineers with good experience in a heavy industrial environment or in the oil and gas industry to work for a company that designs, builds and supplies engineering solutions for the offshore oil and gas, submarine telecom, defence and renewables industries.
Our client’s hydraulic design function provides the primary actuation of most of their equipment, above and below sea level.
The role of Hydraulic Design Engineer will begin at the tender stage, interpreting the client’s requirements and developing the solution as the mechanical design evolves.
From circuit design to commissioning, attention to detail is vital to achieve the tight project times.
The scope is impressive from 450mm bore x 4m stroke cylinders with flows of 5000litres/min to tiny compensators.
The company works against challenging schedules, with suppliers, to obtain the parts, plan and implement component testing and then build the hydraulic system around the mechanical one, with a high standard of cleanliness. System testing and installation follows after integration with the control systems.
The operations support is founded on top class documentation.
As an engineer, you would be required to work closely with subcontract manufacturers to fabricate the equipment and would be routinely involved in the build process and factory testing, often with client participation. The involvement will often continue with installation and commissioning.
