Health & Safety Coordinator
We are working with a well-established, forward thinking Waste/Recycling Company who have an opportunity for an experienced H&S professional to join their busy team based in the West Midlands.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for providing competent Health & safety advice and support to employees to comply with Health & Safety legislation and policies, and who will be visible in the workplace and lead by example on Health & Safety.
You will be integral in driving the Health & Safety culture within the business. Responsible for co-ordinating, supporting and advising the business in all aspects with regards to Health Safety & Environmental matters.
To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety within the business are adhered to, reporting any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents, and incidents in a timely manner to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence.
Developing effective policies and procedures; conducting and recording risk assessments and site inspections supporting incident investigations and leading investigations when potential or actual severity dictates.
Liaising with managers and making recommendations on how to meet safety standards. Supporting all operations with Safe Working Procedure development. Issuing PPE and maintaining records.
Developing and delivering H&S communications (toolbox talks, newsletters, posters).
The successful candidate will have previous experience within Health & Safety, preferably within waste management or manufacturing and be able to demonstrate a positive impact on the Health & Safety culture.
You will be NEBOSH qualified or equivalent and possess excellent communication skills. You will be a dynamic, driven person whose passion for health & safety will drive improvements within the business. For full details, please email a copy of your CV to Rebecca
