Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per year

Health, Safety and Environmental Manager 

Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per annum

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week.

Are you an HSE professional looking for a new challenge? A fantastic opportunity has arisen with one of our clients, a thriving global manufacturing business based in Chesterfield. Key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will take full responsibility of the sites Health, Safety and Environment. providing support and advice to management and employees, reporting into the Factory Manager. 

Duties include:

  • Implementing, managing and supporting the H&S management system
  • Maintaining and developing ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 management system
  • Ensuring COMAH and DSEAR are adhered to on site
  • Conducting risk assessments on site
  • Develop and update health and safety policies and procedures
  • Coordinate health and safety training
  • Conduct induction training with new employees and employees returning to work.
  • Incident reporting to the H.S.E
  • Maintain database re: chemicals & PPE
  • Maintain Fire Safety Register
  • Ensure environmental compliance with waste management permit regulations
  • Ensuring compliance to EPA licence
  • Environmental monitoring and reporting (Including for local authorities, government bodies etc)
  • Manage waste going in and out of the facility and also ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Site assessments, internal audits and updating records.

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Previous Environmental, Health and Safety management experience is essential, with knowledge of UK legislation and regulations.
  • Experience of working with COMAH regulations is desirable 
  • Passionate about improving the Environment, Health and Safety
  • Great IT skills including sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and also H&S management systems.
  • Must have good organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent communicational skills, be self motivated with the ability to multitask
