Salary: £30 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Engineer to join our clients busy H&S Department. You will be tasked with providing Health, Safety support to the business and project management staff to ensure that our Health and Safety Management Systems do not import unacceptable risk to our clients

Formal Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH Certificate preferred as a minimum).
At least 2-3 years experience in Safety Management in a multi-disciplined environment (including training delivery)
In addition, Safety Management experience interacting with the Rail Industry would be beneficial, as would working knowledge of CDM.

Responsibilities:
• To conduct training sessions for internal and external staff.
• To work with project management and staff in a positive and constructive manner, advising and assisting in the implementation and maintenance of an effective Health and Safety Management System.
• To ensure that you have a thorough understanding of all Procedures and are able to advise on the implementation of those procedures to all cubic staff on either our customer or our own sites
• To ensure that your knowledge is maintained of client requirements with regards to rules and procedures affecting health, safety, welfare and the environment.
• To conduct site Inspections and surveys including documenting site specific risk assessments.
• To maintain an overview of the safety requirements within all stages of a project lifecycle, providing guidance, advice and assistance to project staff as and when required.
• To monitor and record all internal and external non conformance’s and work constructively with all levels of management and staff in implementing solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
• To work closely with the other members of the safety department to maximise knowledge and experience to ensure that all health, safety and welfare requirements on all projects are fully understood.
• To monitor the effectiveness of the customer focused safety plans and the requirements of the CDM Regulations and ensure that these meet the legal and contractual requirements.
• In conjunction with managers and the Human Resources Department, identify development and training needs for staff that are necessary to meet the levels of competency required to make the Health and Safety Management System effective.
• To carryout accident and incident investigations and identify remedial actions to reduce the risk of re-occurrence

LOCATION: Redhill, Reigate, Horley, Gatwick, Surrey

CONTRACT RATE: Negotiable
