Head of Health and Safety

Salary: £84,000 – £96,000 per year

Head of Health & Safety – Homebased with National Travel – £70k-£80k + Car/Allowance + Bonus + Package.

Our client is an industry leading supply chain, logistics, and distribution specialist, working with some of the UK largest food and retail brands. They are currently recruiting a high performing Health & Safety professional to lead a team and help ensure legal compliance and industry best practise. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic input and operational support across the organisation, acting as the focal point for H&S within your business area.

Responsibilities include

• To provide strategic Health & Safety advice, guidance, and support
• Work with people at all levels across the business and client group
• To establish a strong and positive Health & Safety culture and to drive the continual improvement of performance
• Manage the Health & Safety team across 8+ busy depots, ensuring compliance and improvement
• To support business change through effective change management processes

Desired Skills

• Proven track record performing at a high level in a Snr H&S Management / Head of H&S role
• Excellent working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
• Flexible approach to work, able to manage own priorities and workload
• Excellent communication and influencing skills – result focused and determined
• Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with an ability to build and develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent coaching experience with an ability to develop and up skill
• Able to work independently to deadlines and under pressure with confidence

Qualifications & Experience

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience managing teams / people
• A passion for Health & Safety
• Logistics / Distribution sector experience is desirable, but not essential.
