Summary

A brand new role has arisen in Horsham, West Sussex, for a Packaging Shift Manager who can take charge of a shift of 40+ Packaging Technicians (via two Team Leaders), working on permanent 6am – 2.15pm shifts. If you have solid experience within high-speed Pharmaceutical GMP packaging operations and are looking for an accountable, fast-paced and varied role, this could be an excellent opportunity.

The Company

The company is the market leader in the provision of supply chain solutions to a specialist pharmaceutical sector. Their services include packaging, storage and distribution of pharmaceutical products that are used in clinical trials. The site is self-contained with state of the art facilities in a sizeable rural setting. Employing over 500 people the operational area includes automated packaging, over encapsulation, warehousing and despatch with dual operating areas: ambient and cold chain. All operational facilities are fully cGMP regulated and compliant. Due to recent expansion and major success, the Horsham site has created this brand new position.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will take charge of the entire packaging facility on the early shift (6am – 2.15pm). You will have two direct reports and overall responsibility for around 40 packaging staff. You will need to be very visible on the shop floor, leading by example and getting involved in all aspects of primary and secondary packaging. The company has a state-of-the art packaging facility, focusing particularly on blister packs but also offering the versatility to respond to the needs of all of their Big Pharma customers.

Experience

We are seeking a highly experienced leader who knows and understands Pharmaceutical packaging, preferably relating to clinical trial drugs as opposed to (or in addition to) commercial products. A strong knowledge of high-speed equipment (blisters etc) would be highly advantageous. Food / FMCG experience will be useful too but you MUST have the Pharma experience.

Due to the nature of the early shifts and the company`s location, you must have your own transport and must live relatively close to Horsham (or be willing to move to the area).
