Tell me more about the role…

You will be primarily responsible for working both in the field and at the depot, you will be required to carry out planned servicing, repairs, upgrades, and breakdown response work at customer sites on generators from 20–1260KVA. The role will require you to work on an out of hours call rota.

This is a field service based role covering the East Midlandsregion, where you’ll be tasked with the following:

– Maintenance on generators to include all relevant electrical and mechanical testing

– Fault diagnosis and rectification

– Installation & commissioning of temporary generators

The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What experience do I need?

My client wants someone who’s got a background in carrying out planned service and maintenance of customers generators.

They’ll also need you to have experience of both mechanical and electrical fault finding and working on breakdowns.

In addition, you’ll need the following:

– A recognised apprenticeship as a mechanical/electrical engineer

– IEE Regs – 18th edition (beneficial)

– 3 years experienced Generator Field Service Engineer

You’ll also need to be the following:

– Strong knowledge of all electrical and mechanical aspects of generators

– First class customer facing skills and good communication skills

– Flexible to meet requirements of service operations

What can I earn?

This Generator Engineer position offers a basic salary between £36,000 – £48,000per annum.

There are further payments you’ll receive as a result of your on-call work which will amount to £36,000 – £48,000per annum, and you have the ability to earn overtime in the role.

On top of this, you can expect to earn a performance related bonus if you hit your targets (details of which will be revealed on application).
