Generator Engineer

Salary: £38,400 – £43,200 per year

We’re looking for a Generator Engineer to work for our client.

They are a family-owned and control a group of multiple businesses. Specialising in the supply, installation, maintenance, and repair of diesel generators within the emergency/standby power generation.

You’ll need to have demonstrable experience of servicing and maintaining generators up to 1.5 MW

Responsibilities:

– Carrying out both preventative and remedial maintenance to diesel generator sets and controls on customer sites

– Carry out routine maintenance in the field on a variety of diesel generator sets

– Diagnosing both electrical and mechanical faults and carry out necessary remedial repairs ensuring the work is carried out to a high quality and with the quoted guidelines

– Interrogate, diagnose, and repair faults on and through control panels

– Correctly calculate, connect, and complete out onsite load bank testing

Requirements:

– Experience of servicing and maintaining generators up to 1.5MW

– Additional experience of being a time-served engineer in a mechanical discipline, ideally with at least three years’ experience

– Further experience of electrical fault finding

– A City & Guilds qualification in a engineering displine

– Recognised manufacturer training courses relevant to generators

– Knowledge in using diagnostic tooling and software

– Demonstratable knowledge of working on deepsea, comap or other controllers

– Able to proactively generate estimates for required or suggested work following your repair or service visit

– Able to coordinate with the office and customer to organise hire generators when repairs cannot be carried out on critical equipment

– Able to provide other engineers with technical support in relation to mechanical and electrical works

– A full driving licence is needed for this role

The Package:

– Basic salary: £38,400 – £43,200per annum

– Overtime: You’ll also have the opportunity to earn overtime in this role

– Benefits include:

— 22 days holiday + BH

— Door to door pay

— Option of personal use on van

— Flexible working hours

— OT rate anything after 8 hours is time and a half and weekend rates are double time

The standard working hours for this position are Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm.
