Automotive Assistant Service Manager Required for busy Main Dealer in Reading

Our client requires an experienced automotive Assistant Service Manager with recent experience to work within their busy Prestige Service department based in Reading.

This opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual who is able to demonstrate key strengths in people management, profitability and in delivering excellent customer service.

The applicant will be assisting the Service Manager in the day to day running of a busy service department, overseeing eleven technicians, three service team leaders, three administrators, driving team and cleaning team and be able to work under pressure and demonstrate the ability to make day to day decisions with minimal supervision.

Ideally the applicant will be fully conversant with Main Dealer systems, and Kerridge, but this is not essential for the right applicant.
They will have to rise to the challenge of leading change by example and implementing branch, departmental and company policies by demonstrating staff leadership, motivational & coaching skills, to insure achievement of the manufacturers & company targets & KPI’s to deliver profit.
A flexible approach to all aspects of the job role is required. The successful applicant will be fully supported by the Service Manager and the Aftersales Director the applicant will assume full responsibility for the Service Department in the Service Managers absence, which will include liaising with Senior Management, resolving personnel issues and customer matters.

Good organisational skills
Working under pressure to achieve tight deadlines
Able to delegate effectively
Good written and numerical communication skills
Be confident in using your own initiative
