An exciting opportunity for an experienced quantity Surveyor to join a well established maintenance contractor based in Salford. My client specialise in a wide variety of contracts from measured term, planned maintenance, refurbishment projects up to £600k in value and four to five year frameworks and partnership agreements up to £18m.
The company operates within a number of industries including social housing, commercial, leisure and the public sector.
Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, duties will include:
- Assisting the QS with commercial administration and management on a number of live projects or projects at pre-construction phase
- Sub-contract procurement and commercial management
- Compile valuations
- Prepare internal valuations to determine accurate cost reports
- Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout
- Assist the QS with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work
- Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner
- Attend project and company related meetings
- Ensure the company is neither compromise nor disadvantaged by an contractual or financial arrangement
- Manage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation
- Sufficiently manage the financial aspects of the project to ensure the correct safety
- Ensure timely cash flow management for the Client and the group, and the supply change
- Maintaining and developing professional relationships with the Client, to help future business development
The successful candidate must have post graduate experience working for a maintenance or social housing contractor working on planned maintenance, responsive repairs and working from schedule of rates.
In return for your skills you will benefit from a company package which includes a basic salary between £19,200 – £30,000 + company benefits.
