Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor – Cis

Salary: £420 – £480 per day

Skilled Careers are working with the M&E division of a leading main contractor with a turnover of circa £1.2bn and a strong national presence sectors who due to a number of notable project wins require a senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their midlands business unit, Based from a head office in Central Birmingham you will initially tasked as acting as commercial lead on a £12m M&E mixed use commercial scheme in Coventry, the project is still in pre construction and you will take full control of all commercial duties for the duration of the project due to reach PC in early 2024. As senior M&E Quantity Surveyor you will report to a regional commercial director and have the support of an assistant/intermediate level surveyor. 

Duties: 

 • Day to day running on the division in terms of procurement and financial control • Bid for new opportunities and attend interviews for new work • Internal commercial & resource management of projects to achieve profitable returns • Leadership, guidance & mentoring staff • Act as the key co-ordinator with the professional team and works contractors in respect to the valuation process. • Have clear strategy on operational delivery, customer engagement, commercial excellence, winning work and repeat business, • Use sound planning and project management skills to deliver multiple and complex commitment and objectives and consistently use financial levers to grow profitability for the portfolio and business unit • Actively engage with all internal and external stakeholders; adapting personal style when required • Regularly review, provide guidance and challenge on strategic (project) and business unit objectives
