Assistant Management Accountant

What you’ll do:

You will provide support to the Transport – Rail Projects business, working closely with the Management Accountant

• Manage multiple cost centres (engineering, PMO and support functions), including the monthly production of overhead packs. Reviews to be conducted monthly with department heads, reviewing actuals vs budget and forecast and updating full year Latest View.
• Under and over recovery analysis – highlighting significant variances to stakeholders and Management Accountant.
• Reporting on utilisation and understanding its impact on under and over recovery. Reviews to be conducted monthly with department heads, reviewing actuals vs budget and forecast
• Assist with the month-end process in calculating orders, sales and margin and reconciling Oracle to P&L files
• Assist with producing latest view forecasts monthly for projects, including opportunities within the portfolio, and understanding and reporting on variances to prior forecasts

Who you are:

The candidate needs to be a motivated individual who is a very accurate completer finisher who thrives in a busy team environment. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to expand their accounting skills in management accounting field who will play a key support role to support the Management Accountant for the Rail Projects portfolio within the Transport business.

Key requirements:

• Excellent inter-personal skills
• Ability to prioritise and be flexible in working as a team
• Prepared to challenge stakeholders during reviews
• Part qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA
• Minimum 5 GCSE’s grade A-C with at least B in Mathematics
