Salary: £19.8 per hour
Contract Scotland has an opportunity for a qualified Accountant to join our client based in Edinburgh City Centre. This is a full time temporary role for an initial 6 month period however it could become permanent for the successful candidate.
Working as part of the Finance team, you will be responsible for preparing the full management accounts including commentary and analysis for the key decision makers. In addition you will prepare the balance sheet reconciliations and contribute to the board reports as well as preparing financial reports, supporting with audit processes and preparing the budgets, forecasts and report on ongoing investments and projects. The role will also involve:
• Maintaining effective financial control within the business and the services provided within including inputting into the financial strategy and financial plan, financial performance monitoring and reporting and the development of savings plans
• Providing finance information and support to the accountability review process including monitoring in year financial performance and forecast against the overall financial plan.
• Analysis and interpretation of operation performance
• Responsibility for supervision and completion of balance sheet accounts reconciliation, P&L analysis
• Forecasting information for the company to support completion of the yearly financial assessment.
• Driving the delivery of business, corporate plans and continuous improvement for your own areas of responsibility.
• Leading by example as a role model for company values and professional standards.
• Being fully aware of and actively complying with company policies and procedures relevant to your own responsibilities and to corporate policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection.
• Additional duties associated with the role as determined by management.
You will have experience of working in a similar role and will be qualified either by experience or education. Membership of an accounting governing body is essential. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and you will ideally have a working knowledge of SAP.
