Working with a team of Account Managers and reporting directly to the Sales Manager this role is responsible for acquiring and retaining customer accounts within a specific territory.

As an Account Manager you will be responsible for:

Meeting and exceeding sales and business targets

  • Planning and preparing for sales visits to both existing and prospect customers to ensure relevant products and services can be provided
  • Attending face to face customer visits to appropriate contacts for both existing and prospect customers
  • New business generation
  • Develops existing customers through up-selling and or cross selling
  • Networking within the local market to identify prospect accounts

Customer relationship management

  • Form working relationships with customer organisations through face-to-face meetings to meet customer needs
  • Establish professional relationships and open communication with other relevant functional areas
  • Provide a channel of communication between TNT and it’s customers, ensuring they are updated with relevant TNT information and reports
  • Perform follow-up visits to evaluate service levels and product offering
  • Providing a flexible solution to our customers needs

Sales administration

  • Act upon information provided by the Commercial department regarding classifications, e.g up/down traders, customers not trading to profile etc.
  • Completion of sales reports within agreed timeframes
  • Completes and updates customer information and documentation as required by the business
  • Review sales performance and prepare presentations as necessary for sales meetings
  • Interpreting commercial/sales reports in order to maximise and improve customer relationships

The Account Manager earns an attractive salary, commission and annual bonus, plus a company car, contributory pension scheme, mobile phone, iPAD and laptop. There are also opportunities for development and progression throughout TNT.

In order to deliver a distinctive Customer Experience you will demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills, as well as an ability to organise and prioritise a busy workload. You will have previous experience of B2B sales, a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and an understanding of supply chain principles.
