Job Title: 2nd Line Network Engineer (CISCO/CCNA Certified)

Location: Hemel Hempstead

The company is seeking a 2nd Line Network Engineer to join their successful team who manage the day to day operations of our platforms. The role includes administering and supporting a wide range of Cisco based network devices are at the heart of our platforms across the UK and US. The position requires someone with a rounded skill set across multiple technical disciplines but primarily demonstrable and excellent Cisco experience. Successful candidate must also bring excellent communication skills to add to the existing team.

Key functional responsibilities:

• Day to day maintenance of network components / servers
• Patching and security management
• Use and implement administration and monitoring tools
• Liaise with clients and other business groups
• Incident response management and root cause analysis
• Assist in service deployments across the platform
• Assisting with security audits of the network
• Other administration duties within the department as required.

• Clients.
• IT/IS.
• Project Managers.
• Developers.

Candidate profile, experience and skill:

• Minimum of 2 years’ hands on experience of TCP/IP networks in a 2nd line support role
• Minimum of 2 years’ hands on experience with Cisco routers / switches / ASA firewalls in a 2nd line support role
• Minimum of 2 years’ hands on experience with routing protocols (MPLS / BGP / OSPF) in a 2nd line support role
• Basic Linux knowledge.
• Good problems analysis and solving skills.
• Excellent working practices and communications skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Approachable, adaptable and results driven.

Technical skills:

• Specific knowledge on Cisco switching/routing and firewalling
