Oracle Database Administrator

Our client needs an experience and motivated Oracle Database Administrator. The role is based in the Melbourn HQ at the Melbourn Science Park reporting to the Principal Database Engineer.

This will involve:

* Monitoring the production database to investigate anomalies and perform capacity planning.
* Administering the staging and development Oracle Databases to ensure their health and ensure that any proposed database changes are appropriately documented and tested.
* Plan and participate in performance test exercises as new equipment is brought in to scale the system to larger volumes.
* Produce ad-hoc reports for to satisfy business teams.
* Participate in DR and recovery testing.
* Carrying out the above using appropriate change control procedures and documentation.

Candidate:

* Expert skills within Oracle are essential.
* Familiarity with Unix and other RDBMS systems would be an advantage.
* Expected to be able to demonstrate an open but methodical approach to change.
* Candidates who’ve worked with long life production systems or software products are likely to have backgrounds that will lead to success in this role.

Location: Royston, Hertfordshire
Hours: Full Time – Flexible Hours
Salary: £42,000 – £54,000per annum Depending on Experience
