Development & Technical Designers

I am looking for a Development Designer either a junior with 12-18 months experience up to Senior, I have more than one position available and I am happy to review candidates at all levels, young or old. I have positions all very similar in nature in the following areas;

Leicester * Birmingham * Avon

As a (Junior/ Middleweight or Senior) Development Designer, you will be responsible for the production of innovative, creative and technical accurate design solutions, in keeping with the clients instructions.

What You Can Expect to Do Day to Day:

• Be involved initially with idea generation, scamps, sketches, mood boards and
• presentations as well as producing innovative and highly creative designs in
• accordance with the clients brief.
• Creating visuals, instruction drawings and supporting documentation when
• required.
• Correctly interpreting and understanding the brief ensuring the final design
• meets client specification, not just aesthetically but to ensure the design is
• useable.
• Full awareness and understanding of the project design budget and monitoring
• budget usage, ensuring any variations are reported back
• Technical drawing both in 2D and 3D as well as component drawings.
• Liaising with contact both internally within the business and external with clients
• and suppliers etc
• Adhering to the project schedule, and ensuring all departments receive updates and revisions through the appropriate revision control procedure
• Checking and ensuring the quality and accuracy of BOM’s, instructions and manufactured parts.

What WE would like to see from YOU:
• A strong portfolio that reflects both Technical and Creative skill in both 2D and
• 3D.
• Degree (or equivalent) Product, 3D, Industrial or similar. Time served Designers
• with a strong portfolio will also be considered.
• Good ‘hands on’ experience of working with a range of substrates and materials
• that may include; metal, wood, glass, plastic etc.
• Strong communications skills both written and spoken, good time management
• skills and the nature to work in a team environment.
• Excellent software skills in Solid Works/ Solid Edge/ Inventor/ Pro, AutoCAD,
• Photoshop any additional software would be a bonus.
• Previous experience within Retail Design, Brand Design, Interior (Retail)
• Design, Shop fitting, Point of Sale, Point of Purchase, Exhibitions would be
• required especially for more experienced applicants.
