Design & Development Engineer

I am working with a South Yorkshire company which operate on an International scale.

Specialising in Drainage solutions, Couplings and seals for the drainage and sewerage

sector

Now looking for a Development/Design Engineer, who will be responsible for the design

of products, Manufacturing equipment and Technical support.

The company design and manufacture a comprehensive range of flexible couplings which are suitable for sewerage, drainage, plumbing and vent systems, and can be used with plastic, clay, concrete, cast iron and steel pipes.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following –

Generating product design suggestions, diagrammatic schemes, CAD/2D data and product prototypes.

To carry out prototype testing, To prepare and update the project management programme.

To provide supervision and support on all projects as a team activity.

To Carry out detailed development and testing of new and revised products and to maintain project files & documentation To Liaise with suppliers, material, tool and equipment manufacturers To Provide acceptance/inspection criteria of new incoming material and components.

To Produce detailed product, component and QA drawings, Design and source manufacturing equipment, tooling and supporting materials Prepare for, and carry out, certification testing and documentation Ensure that products specifically bearing any standard mark consistently meet the requirements of the relevant standard or specification.

To Supporting initial manufacture and improvement To provide assistance, advice and practical support on machine maintenance and breakdown Provide customers, sales department and manufacturing personnel training Conduct off site investigations, when required Identify & implement training needs for the R + D function and to complete reporting personnel assessments Ensure all departmental documentation is controlled and up to date Ensure Factory equipment maintenance programme is operable and documentation up to date To ensure that housekeeping and H & S standards are adhered to within the department and in working practices.

To complete special duties or assignments as identified and agreed from time to time.

Over sea’s travel will also be required from time to time.

Qualifications:

Qualification in Product design, ideally within an Engineering capacity

2D Cad design

Experience of Prototypes.
