An experienced CIPD qualified HR Professional for a manufacturing business.
Our client is a Manufacturing business part of an International Group
They are now looking for recruit a forward-thinking Human Resources Manager with experience gained in a manufacturing sector. Candidates will have a generalist HR background with a successful career path developing close working relationships with all parts of the factory. They will offer experience of change management and helping the site leadership get the best out of its people.
The role:
The HR Manager is a key part of the senior leadership team and ensures HR systems/processes support the strategic aims of the business. The factory is a medium sized site with close knit staff relations. It is expected that the HR Manager will be a visible leader working in all areas and at all levels of the business to ensure the workforce is listened to and feels valued. The company has lots of potential but also needs to be encouraged to challenge the status quo so that it can achieve its growth aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, guidance and support to line managers on all HR-related issues (e.g. recruitment, training, disciplinary, grievance)
- Development and implementation of the HR strategy for the site, in line with group policies and expectations
- Ensuring legal compliance with regards to employment legislation and providing advice/support on any legal issues to the executive team
- Acting as the primary HR contact for all staff on employment matters
- Leading the continued development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Ensuring the business remains at the forefront of any new developments in HR
- Working with the line managers and external providers on recruitment objectives; development of job specifications, defining the approach, interviewing, carrying out appropriate checks and making appointments in a timely manner
- On-boarding new members of staff, ensuring they receive a full induction and that they are welcomed into the business
- Producing contract documents and implementing contract changes as required
- Reviewing and implementing ‘Leading and Development’ plans
- Leading the Performance Review process and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken
- Maintaining accurate employment records and ensuring compliance with GDPR regulations
- Management of employee benefits
Person Profile:
- Experienced HR generalist with CIPD qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior people management role
- Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced change/improvement oriented manufacturing business.
- Experience of managing conflict and achieving positive outcomes
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of employment law and HR best practice
- Convincing, persuasive and proactive manager. Leads from the front, self-motivated and above all a team player that is interested in the operational performance of the business
- Open and communicative style of leadership
- Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
- Excellent organisation skills
- Good presentation & communication skills
- Fully conversant with MS Office (esp. Excel)
