Salary: £50,400 per year

This is an exciting, challenging, new opportunity to contribute to delivering a high performing Operations Team, ensuring materials are available on time in full as required. Reporting into the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the Purchasing strategy, driving improved profitability through the Business.

THE ROLE

• Responsible for purchasing a portfolio of products and materials in line with company objectives.
• Supporting the development and delivery of purchasing KPI’s.
• Identifying cost reduction opportunities and negotiating accordingly.
• Identifying and developing at least 2 sources of supply, safeguarding the operation, building strong supplier relationships.
• Supporting NPI projects with stakeholders.
• Liaising with internal stakeholders, minimising potential risks to supply.
• Utilising and development of the MRP system making purchasing decisions and to identify short-term capacity concerns. Updating of the MRP data such as safety stocks.
• Working with suppliers to drive Raw Materials and Packaging stock levels to optimum agreed requirements.
• Developing Quality processes to ensure goods received are in required specification.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Previous experience of a similar senior role within purchasing, able to influence a strong supply chain team
• A strongly driven data person with experience of a using MRP systems and good knowledge of IT packages including MS Excel
• Keen to drive price improvements, with excellent communication and negotiating skills
• Qualified to CIPS level 4 or 5
