Salary: £84,000 – £96,000 per year

RedRock Recruitment require for their client an experienced Purchasing Manager with a minimum 5 years experienced within the construction industry for a permanent position in Tottenham court road. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Purchasing team, ensuring the provision of required level of service in a pro-active and professional manner to enable the co-ordination of the Purchasing Department.

 Responsibilities

  • Forecasting levels of demand for services and products, to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedule and quality
  • Liaising between Suppliers, Manufacturers and Project Managers
  • Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process
  • Building and maintaining good relationship with existing suppliers as well as researching and identifying new potential suppliers
  • Negotiating and agreeing contracts, monitoring their progress and checking the quality of the service provided
  • Negotiating prices and contracts
  • Processing and checking invoices for payments
  • Ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives
  • Attending meetings and developing an organisation’s purchasing strategy
  • Management and coordination of purchasing activities
  • Ensure weekly procurement meetings are efficient and actions completed

Skills and experience required

  • At least 5 years’ experience in construction industry preferred
  • Excellent negotiating and networking skills
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to work with figures and budgets
  • Leadership skills and ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills, proficiency using MS Office package
  • Good management skills, ability to priorities and work
  • Good report writing skills
  • Ability to conduct research and present findings in constructive way
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
