Laboratory Team Leader/Laboratory Supervisor

Location: Royston

Salary: To £36,000plus 26% shift premium plus excellent benefits package

Laboratory Supervisor/Laboratory Team Leader

We are an industry leading manufacturer of technologies sold to Automotive businesses across the globe. Due to an internal movement, we now require an additional Laboratory Team Leader who will lead a shift of Laboratory Technicians within our Quality Control
Laboratories providing precise, accurate and timely analytical results alongside focusing on driving performance improvement and lean initiatives. We invite applications from Laboratory Chemists, Laboratory Analysts who already have some experience of managing/supervising/looking after a small team. A scientific degree is essential as well as some similiar experience in a quality control laboratory/wet chemistry and statistal knowledge, ideally Minitab.

IMPORTANT NOTE: FLEXIBILITY ON SHIFT PATTERNS IS PARAMOUNT AS THIS ROLE WILL INCORPORATE, EARLIES, LATES AND NIGHTS.

Laboratory Supervisor/Laboratory Team Leader

Full responsibility for instruments standards: This includes calibration, maintenance, availability of necessary supplies such as liquid nitrogen, liquid argon, emptying IBC, etc.
Review of results: to revise the analytical results prior to submission to customers (internal and external).
Coordination of the activities performed by the other members of the team and organise the manning of the shift.
Prioritise the order of the analysis: to oversee that samples are always analysedaccording to their priorities.
To be the main link between the labs and the other areas (communication, board meetings, 11:00 meetings, etc.)
Procedures: to ensure that laboratory procedures are followed at all times and good laboratory practices are observed.
Training needs: To identify training needs for staff.
Handover: Ensure Laboratory activities are reported on day-to-day basis, maintaining a shift change over log and good communications between shifts When applying for this role, please indicate your current salary (plus benefits package), minimum salary required, notice period and your reasons for wishing to move from your current company.
