Salary: £38,400 – £45,600 per year

LARGE INTERNATIONAL MANUFACTURING ORGANISATION. 3,000+ EMPLOYEES ACROSS 12 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES.

Distribution / Logistics Manager required to work with a manufacturing organisation with a large headcount onsite. They are experiencing growth and expanding at the moment and the role will see the successful candidate having responsibility over a large warehousing and dispatch team via direct and indirect reports while reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager onsite.

Salary: £38,400 – £45,600 (dependent on experience) + pension, potential bonus etc.

The Role: The Distribution / Logistics Manager would report in to the Supply Chain Manager and would have overall responsibility for the onsite movements of all finished goods and raw materials.

Responsibilities will include:

Overseeing the movement of stock and raw materials onsite and looking to improve the process via implementation and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

To produce by working closely with your team controls on costs and efficiencies for all departmental functions

The Distribution / Logistics Manager will look to improve all aspects which have an effect on the productivity of the site to help to improve overall production efficiency

Development by working closely with your team of Health & Safety onsite

Control and utilisation of staff and supporting, mentoring and developing future team leaders and supervisors onsite

The Candidate: Distribution / Logistics Manager

Previous experience at a similar level (Distribution manager / Logistics Manager / Warehouse Manager / Despatch Manager) within a highly regulated manufacturing environment (ideally food or food related)
Must be used to monitoring and implementing KPIs for the achievement of department and company targets
Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement tools is needed
Must have experience of leading a large team within a warehouse and distribution environment
A formal supervisory / management qualification is desirable
Experience of contributing towards and being involved in auditing processes is desirable
A formal Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement qualification is desirable
Must have excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats
A recognised Health & Safety qualification is desirable
Experience of developing staff is needed
Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications
