Salary: £96,000 – £108,000 per year

Reporting to The Logistics Director the Distribution Centre Manager will be a of a graduate calibre and have at least 6 years experince gained within a FMCG background.

440,000 sq foot warehouse
Budget control 28 million

Job role

To effectively plan all distribution operations on behalf of retailer to continually strive to improve service and reduce cost.

To ensure delivery of Key Performance Indicators through management of core processes and driving continuous improvement through efficient use of the companies’ physical and human assets.

To maximise the performance of the operation by directing the daily, weekly and monthly activities. Providing leadership, motivation, training and development of the team, delivering against customer requirements, and operational performance.

Key Accountabilities/Actions:

•Maintain a safe working environment for all distribution colleagues
•Lead and manage the Team within the approved budget
•Ensure that all aspects of Team performance are properly managed: setting objectives, taking actions to acknowledge good performance and rectifying poor performance
•To effectively communicate Business objectives and plans to the team so that they fully understand their contribution to these
•Complete regular store visits and demonstrate understanding of store operations
•Undertake all additional tasks at the request of the Executive
•People: Develop and manage an effective management structure and processes to ensure consistent performance of all management and colleague teams
•Service: Ensure that the distribution centre meet its service obligations
•Schedule Optimisation: To influence retail colleagues to ensure that schedules are optimised to give best value to retail

•The ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches to effect continual improvements in business performance, productivity and the development of Distribution
•Experience of rapid and complex changing work environments
•Coaching and mentoring at Leadership levels
•Success in creating and driving effective resourcing, development, process improvement and change programmes that build business performance
