Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £26,000 per year

We are currently working with a principal main contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team.

The Contractor specialises in new build and refurbishment projects across the East Midlands, with scheme values ranging from £1m to £10m in value.

Projects include Student Accommodation/PRS, Education, Industrial, Retail, Healthcare and Framework schemes.

The projects will be across the East Midlands so you will need to be based in the region with a willingness to travel, although agile working will be available.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your general responsibilities will be:

Preparation and submission of monthly valuations in a timely manner and in line with the Main Contractors Contract Payment Schedule dates

Set up initial Cost Value Reports (CVR) utilising the Estimators tender summary

*

Sub Contractor payment

*

Update CVR monthly and communicate figures to the site teams

*

Manage commercial phases of subcontract accounts from inception to completion

*

Advise internally on cash flow forecasts when necessary

*

Final account negotiation

*

Work closely with and agree contract programmes with Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager and monitor commercial progress

The ideal candidate will have:-

A Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in the successful commercial management of construction projects up to £10m in value

*

Based in ether the East Midlands as agile working is available

*

Industry applicable Degree (or equivalent)

*

Experience in working for a Construction Main Contractor

*

Proven track record of working on a range of project types

*

Experience of working on JCT form of contracts

*

Excellent IT and communication skills
