Salary: £14.34 per hour
We have a fantastic opportunity as a Graduate Information Governance Officer in a respected public health organisation. You will be working full time, as well as learning on the job over 12 months for a tailored qualification. The main purpose of the role is to process requests for information in accordance with the relevant laws.
Your key responsibilities of the role include processing all information requests, ensuring they are correctly documented and confidential data is inputted accurately and maintained on the department’s database. Monitoring the database, ensuring no requests breach the statutory timescales and liaising with the management team if data is likely to breach timescales.
Maintain good relationships with colleagues and where necessary, arrange meeting with Clinicians or their secretaries or others, ensuring that it is appropriate to disclose information.
Providing high customer service and an efficient service to the needs of customers of the Information Governance Department at all times. Participate in department development as appropriate and to participate in departmental meetings. To strictly adhere to all departmental policies with regards to processing requests for information.
All other duties deemed suitable for the role.
Skills and Knowledge
• For the role, you will need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate over the telephone with a wide range of individuals, including staff and patients.
• Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and people of other departments.
• Able to plan and organise work load under own initiative and meet strict deadlines. High level of accurate and attention to detail in order to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with the Law.
• An understanding of UK laws e.g. Data Protection Act 1998, Freedom of Information Act 2000 etc.
This will be a full time role, 37.5 hours per week and will be paying £14.34 per hour.
