Junior Estimating – Steelwork / Engineering

Salary: £30,000 – £54,000 per year

Junior Estimator

On behalf of our client we now seek a Junior Estimator to join their existing and very busy team. The company is an engineering business involved in the design of a range of steelwork and plate work and unique fabrications covering numerous industries. Based in Derbyshire they have an excellent reputation across a wide aspect of work with many clients and are now seeking a Junior Estimator.

Junior Estimating Role:

•Receiving enquires.

•Reading drawing/Specs and doing a material take off

•Produce estimates and quotes for the full content of work (materials, fabrication, install).

•Producing estimates directly from consultant / engineers drawings as well as from drawings and lists produced by the internal drawing office.

To work reporting directly to the Estimating Manager.

Junior Estimating Requirements:

Ideally, this would be suited to someone with several years hands on experience of working within an estimating department for a steelwork / plate work or engineering manufacturer who is now looking to develop their knowledge and skills sets and indeed their career.

NB: We will also consider application from steelwork industry professionals that have worked in the Drawing Office, Design Office, Buying Office etc. that now wish to forge a career as a full time Estimator.

•Must have a good eye for details and be an effective communicator both written and verbally.

•Must have excellent Microsoft skills, i.e. word, excel. (Any experience using MIS software would be useful but by no means essential).
