A well respected and established leader in the manufacture of highly precision machined components for various industry sectors including Aerospace and Medical. The company is looking to grow and develop their workforce within their up to date modern facility. You will be supported with on-going mentoring and training as appropriate.
Job Profile
The Senior Quality Inspector will be responsible for upholding and setting quality standards in line with customer standards and practices in all aspects of the companies work and to ensure a timely dispatch of products through efficient delegation and prioritisation of work and tasks.
Duties
* Manage and promote Health & Safety at all times with in the business
* Inspection of precision parts using conventional measurement equipment and CMMs
* Ensure accuracy of dimensions and tolerances stated upon drawings
* Check accuracy of all documentation relating to products
* Programme and set CMM and other equipment to ensure that products conform to requirements.
* Research and implement improved inspection practices that drive improvement to quality internally such as failure rates at 1st offs and Final inspections.
* Compile FAIR’s in line with AS9102.
* Maintain calibration system ensuring that it’s up to date at all times.
* Involved in all supplier and customer returns
* Communicate with customers and suppliers as and when needed in supporting with quality issues.
* Participate in regular audits to maintain standards and preserve ISO9001 certification.
* Man management of department ensuring utilization of staff and booking times are maintained to standard.
Skills & Experience
* Proficient in the use of hand measurement tools.
* Experience of using a Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
* Ability to read engineering drawings and have knowledge of GD&T.
* Knowledge and experience in compiling inspection reports.
* Quality control with ISO9001 / AS9100 standards
* Familiarity with Auditing processes and procedures.
* Knowledge of precision engineering
Hours & Benefits
* Days 40 hours per week
* 07.30 – 16.30 Monday – Thursday, Friday 13.30 finish
