LOCATION (candidates considered from the following areas): Newark-on-Trent, Grantham, Peterborough, Lincoln, Boston, Melton Mowbray, Oakham, Horncastle.

JOB TITLE: Transport Supervisor / Transport Controller Waste Management and

Recycling.

BACKGROUND-

You should come from a logistics / distribution background such as multi drop parcels, courier services, freight, waste management, haulage, bus, taxi, coach.

Having waste management experience would be welcomed but not essential. You should have a National or International CPC.

CLIENT-

My client is an innovative organisation in the recycling and waste management sector. They are engaged in general waste management services. With their own recycling facilities they can offer a full and comprehensive recycling service to potential customers.

MAIN DUTIES-

Give work instructions and monitor the performance of drivers i.e. briefing/debriefing during course of working day.

Ensure safe vehicle operations, wheel security, monitor vehicle gross weights etc.

Ensure fleet compliance with logistics and environmental legislation.

Managing KPI’s, services, infringements, compliance.

Ensure that all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to, including H&S induction and training, operating procedures, near miss reporting and emergency procedures

Ensure team complete all Tachograph records and feedback on any infringements.

You will have a good knowledge of legislation (CPC Road Haulage training would be ideal).

Maintain a good working relationship with contract client.

EXPERIENCE-

You will have had experience in some capacity a transport role e.g fleet, courier, dispatch, distribution or logistics operation.

You may have been a Logistics Supervisor / Distribution Planner / Dispatcher / Multi Drop Courier / Traffic Controller / logistics supervisor / distribution planner / fleet manager / operations supervisor / traffic operator / logistics administrator / transport coordinator / transport clerk / logistics coordinator.

Beneficial Qualifications (but not essential)-

CPC National / International / European Road Haulage.
Health and Safety ideally IOSH Managing/Supervising Safely or NEBOSH, General HGV licence.
