Salary: £26,000 per year
This opportunity would suit a Law / LPC / FILEX graduate, OR someone working with files in a Legal Assistant / Paralegal capacity, OR someone currently studying towards an equivalent qualification and looking to gain experience.
Our client is National-Award winning Law firm, and one of the UK’s leading providers of legal services and claims solutions to the insurance industry.
A successful & growing firm of solicitors with UK-wide coverage, they are looking for Trainee Fee Earners to become specialists in their high-demand Defendant Credit Hire Department in Trafford, Manchester.
Working flexitime 35 hours / week from their modern, high-rise office with a nearby Metrolink station, and close to the M60, they have a strong reputation for developing and nurturing employees. Duties will include:
• Provision of first line support for client queries
• Taking client statements and reviewing medical records
• Communicating with third parties on the telephone
• Updating information into SOS / Solcase as required
• Drafting court documents and applications
• Attending hearing and mediations as and when required
• Assisting with Fee Earners chasers and post
• Assisting with the efficient running of the office generally
• Other duties as directed from time to time
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
• Background knowledge of Credit Hire and its application (desirable but not essential)
• Background knowledge of personal injury claims (desirable but not essential)
• Experience of working with files in an Legal Assistant / Paralegal capacity OR a Law/LPC/FILEX graduate, OR current studying towards an equivalent qualification and looking to gain experience
• Experience of communicating and working with clients
• The ability to run an effective diary system
• Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
• Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to work effectively under pressure
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
