Team Manager – (6-month contract)

Based: Newport
Salary: c£30,000 – £36,000per annum

Our client is a large and growing food manufacturer, supplying an increasing proportion of the UK’s major retailers with a variety of quality products. They have established themselves quickly, building on their success with innovative products and investing heavily in their people and equipment. They now seek to appoint a talented team manager on a 6-month contract, with the strong potential to lead to a permanent position.

The successful applicant will be from a food manufacturing background, will be resilient and will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of driving through continuous improvement and best practice.

Responsibilities:-

• Plan, organise, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations of the team to exceed customers’ expectations
• Ensure efficient production, while minimising unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
• Be responsible for production output and product quality
• Provide leadership to the workforce, as well as recruit, manage and develop staff
• Collect and analyse data to establish and rectify inefficiencies
• Ensure safe operating procedures
• Develop systems and processes that track and optimise productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets
• Keep up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
