Support Worker – Young People

We are based in Ecton, Northamptonshire and are looking to recruit several Care Learning Support and Waking Night staff to join their passionate and committed team. There are full time day shift positions available and full time waking night shift positions available. In return, we offer competitive hourly Salary: s, 33 days holiday and pension benefits.

We offer residential care for young people who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders and challenging behaviour. There are three homes located in Rushden, of which one has school status, one located in Wellingborough, one located in Irchester and one located at Ecton Brook.

The Support Worker / Care Learning Support / Waking Night role will involve:
Working as part of a team of carers supporting up to six residential young people with severe and complex Autistic Disorders
The delivery of agreed care and learning plans; lead and support a variety of leisure activities, including trips out into the community, planned as appropriate for the individual resident
Cover domestic duties
Taking responsibility for the general well being of the client, including domestic and catering duties
Maintaining the consistent use of the structured support system (TEACCH) that functions within all home/schools for each individual resident
Assisting in the monitoring, recording and assessment of the individual resident and their welfare, writing up logs and reports when necessary
Attend training and a minimum of six staff meetings per year
Driving residents in company vehicles while on community outings (clean driving licence required)

The successful Support Worker / Care Learning Support / Waking Night member of staff will have the following:
Experience in a care setting or similar
Responsible for supervising and supporting individual residential young people with severe and complex Autistic Disorders
Work within a small team
Able to show you have the potential to cope with challenging behaviours
Hold a level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social care Adults/CYP or similar

The Care Learner Support hourly Salary: s after the probation period are £26,000. The hours of work are 36.5 per week. The shifts are 7.15am-2.30pm / 2.15pm-9.30pm. Applicants must be willing to work alternate weekends on a rota basis.

The Waking Night Care Learner Support hourly Salary: s after the probation period are £26,000per year. Average hours are 35 per year, 7 shifts during any two weeks period. The waking night shift is 9.15pm-7.30am.
