An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join our client, a highly successful, large, and expanding construction / steelwork fabrication / engineering business based nr Derby. The company takes on full construction projects (design and build) which are typically engineered timber and steel hybrid structures of a wide variety of size and use as well as pure steel framed buildings such as beam and stick, portal frames etc. to large Industrial & Commercial structures.

Key Skills, Experience Reqd:

• Appropriate and relevant qualifications (Degree level or similar) in the field of Structural Engineering. (Chartered and non-Chartered Engineers – all welcome to apply).
• Design experience within a similar Engineering environment i.e. a Steelwork Fabrication company or Structural Engineering Consultancy etc.
• Ideally with solid experience working on structural steelwork and/or timber framed structures with a good understanding of Structural Design / Construction in general, i.e. with knowledge and experience of relevant fields, such as fire design, Architecture, and concepts and also the manufacturing and site processes involved in construction.
• Full understanding of all relevant codes, i.e. Eurocodes
• Working experience of industry Design Software packages. (Training available as required on Design software used by company)
• Ability to work alone or within an Engineering team on projects.
• Attend internal and external meetings, i.e. Design meetings, project launch meetings, site and progress meetings etc.
• Excellent communication and presentations skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel etc.
