Structural Engineer

Fantastic and unique opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join a very large, long establsihed and growing engineering & construction group of companies, with an annual turnover in excess of £900 million!. With multiple sites throughout the UK, this position is based at their Derbyshire site where they are expanding the steelwork fabrication division.

The company takes on full construction projects (design and build) which are typically engineered steel hybrid structures – structural steelwork and some timber elements. The company design, fabricate and supply a wide range of industrial and commercial steelwork structures.

Structural Engineer – Key Skills, Experience Reqd:

• Appropriate and relevant qualifications (Degree level or similar) in the field of Structural Engineering. (Chartered and non-Chartered Engineers – all welcome to apply).
• Design experience within a similar Engineering environment i.e. a Steelwork Fabrication company or Structural Engineering Consultancy etc.
• Ideally with solid experience working on structural steelwork and/or timber framed structures with a good understanding of Structural Design / Construction in general, i.e. with knowledge and experience of relevant fields, such as fire design, Architecture, and concepts and also the manufacturing and site processes involved in construction.
• Full understanding of all relevant codes, i.e. Eurocodes
• Working experience of industry Design Software packages. (Training available as required on Design software used by company)
• Ability to work alone or within an Engineering team on projects.
• Attend internal and external meetings, i.e. Design meetings, project launch meetings, site and progress meetings etc.
• Excellent communication and presentations skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel etc.
