Salary: £26.4 – £36 per hour
An excellent opportunity is available for a Site Manager (carpentry back ground) for the major enhancements and renovation of a prestigious domestic property in Harrogate with potential continuity on other local projects.
The successful candidate will help the Company to promote safe and best practice and reinforce our strong emphasis on safety and quality.
The Site Manager will be a confident leader with a proven track record in management including conservation projects. You will possess the knowledge and experience to ensure compliance to construction and safety standards.
The client is expecting and demanding a prestigious finish to exacting standards, you must be able to achieve this without question whilst balancing the programme and purse strings.
POSITION IN THE ORGANISATION
Reports to: Senior Contracts Manager and Contracts Director
Responsible for: All operatives, sub contractors and visitors
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Site Manager will be responsible for and will be expected to carry out the following:

* All aspects of Health & Safety. Our consultants and Senior Contracts Manager will carry out audits in addition to your inspections.
* Induction of site operatives/sub contractors
* Ensure RAMS are understood and signed prior to each operation. Does the method match the RAMS?
* Checking CSCS cards etc.
* Making sure all operatives and site visitors are wearing correct PPE
* Day to day supervision and management of the site
* Managing the programme
* Sub Contractor orders will be placed by the office. The Site Manager must co-ordinate their work is carried out as detailed in accordance with conservation requirements.
* Any variations must be reported to the Companies QS to ensure instruction is provided. (No day work is permitted)
* Be proactive to ensure materials are on site to avoid trades waiting. (Again material orders by the office)
* Attending weekly site meetings and have positive input.
* Promoting best practice in health and safety for all personnel on site and encouraging a “Don’t Walk By” policy.

Ideally live locally to Harrogate
SKILLS
* Excellent time keeping skills
* Effective prioritisation skills
* Clear communication skills both orally and written
* Basic computer skills (the ability to read and send emails)
* Must be able to motivate a team and lead by example
EXPERIENCE
* Must have construction site experience (minimum 10 years)
* Must have experience of managing refurbishment projects of type two listed buildings
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
* CSCS Card
* Full UK Driving License
* SMSTS Certification
* First Aid at Work Certification
* BTEC / NVQ 4 / City & Guilds ideally in Carpentry or similar
* BTEC / NVQ 4 / City & Guilds in Site Management
