Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year
Due to continued growth, our client is now looking for a Service Foreman.
As a Service Foreman you will be responsible for the efficient, safe and effective delivery of equipment to their customers. Through a team of engineers, the assets are maintained and serviced as required. You will help to maintain all aspects of a depot productivity and delivery of SHEQ standards.

Reporting to the depot manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Adhere to and promote SHEQ group standards, including promoting safety observations maintain, repair, service company assets in line with group standards
- Manage a team of engineers to achieve optimum productivity, ensure they are competent, capable and trained accordingly and to develop them for future progression
- Ensure all transactional elements of the role are managed effectively, such as breakdowns, upload jobs to engineer tablets and determine chargeable items
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ensure service schedule is in line with business KPI’s
- Maintain and update all engineering training and personal development plan skills matrix
- Conduct regular welfare checks per month
- Conduct toolbox talks with the engineers monthly, or as and when required for updates on matters such as H&S, yard/depot change in operating procedures etc
- Ensure depot and engineering standards are consistently adhered to
be successful in the role, you will have a strong interest in mechanical and electrical equipment and prior experience servicing diesel generators, have fantastic problem-solving skills and you will be a meticulous and methodical thinker who is able to plan, prioritise and organise workload. You will thrive on learning new skills and love variety and have a flexible outlook to work.
Clean and tidy appearance is essential as you will be meeting our customers as in a full driving license as travel will be an essential part of the job.
Further responsibilities:
- Run a service run weekly and ensure the engineers are servicing the kit (this will include working on our in house software program to put the service runs oneo the engineer app’s)
- Look after the yard and the workshop here – this will include stock management of spares etc for engineers vehicles and the yard itself
- Allocate and pick kit to go on hire use the engineers in the yard (working to ensure that the kit is ready in good working order for new orders (Pre Delivery Inspection’s/Pat Tested etc)
- Oversea loading & unloading of the trucks at the depot
- Maintain the fleet, keeping H&S records/Inspections up to date.
