My client have exciting and ambitious plans for 2014 and are looking to rebuild their web platform to enable them to scale rapidly both in the UK and Internationally. As part of this they are seeking a Lead Magento Developer with thorough experience in all facets of the platform and a solid understanding of ecommerce processes and functions.

Whilst Magento is our core platform, the developer we are looking for has a broader knowledge in platforms and developing in general. Specifically holding the ability to think logically and how systems & code can be used to answer business-logic issues.

Desired Skills and Experience

5+ years in Magento development role, 8+ years in retail web development with at least 4 years in a senior role – highly experienced with back & frontend development skills.
Experienced with all typical web languages related to Magento development CE & EE: advanced OOP PHP, MySQL (+ SQL), JavaScript, JQuery & Prototype, CSS(3), HTML(5), XML. Experience with any flavour of C and Crystal reports would be highly beneficial.
Strong working knowledge of MVC, especially Zend framework
Writing code to technical specification and adhering to Magento’s standards with a keen eye for detail and an analytical nature.
Extensive management of version control & deployment tools (Jenkins & Capistrano).
Assessing and continually improving performance, spotting potential issues early and responding in an efficient manner.
Strong experience of deploying and debugging 3rd party modules and building modules from scratch.
Extensive experience of integrating with payment gateways, capturing funds on order and with pre-authorisation, providing solid knowledge of PCI compliance.
Comprehensive knowledge of integrating ERP systems, deploying heavy duty caching and migration projects; including the export / import of customer & order data.
Maintaining and optimising a load-balanced hosting environment, including database, CDN and codebase.
Redhat sysadmin skills & experience with the full LAMP stack.
Experience with internationalisation, approaching new markets and utilising Magento’s translation functions.
Translating designs and frameworks into high quality functioning features.
Experienced with the Magento API; SOAP & REST
Full understanding of how to secure the Magento platform against malicious code / attacks.
