Due to new projects and expansion this role has been created within the software engineering team. You will be working alongside other control software engineers and cross-functional teams to develop and deliver clean energy systems for the automotive and aerospace sectors.

The role – Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Simulink

The control systems engineer would be required to interpret systems requirements, devise technical specifications, high level control strategies and control simulations. The role will also involve the development of control software using Matlab / Simulink and Stateflow. You will take responsibility for implementing software to hardware / ECUs and supporting test and validation.

The position could suit an embedded software engineer or control systems engineer that has the ability to code in Embedded C but also strong experience of Matlab / Simulink and stateflow for the development of control software and autocode generation.

Control application – a background in developing control software for real world hardware through sensors and actuators would be ideal. Perhaps motor control, servos, etc.

Skills / Knowledge: Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Simulink

• A degree or higher degree in a relevant subject (e.g. electronic engineering, computer science, mechatronics)
• 4-5 years of industry experience working as a control software engineer utilising embedded C and Matlab / Simulink (and ideally stateflow for autocode generation)
• Experience of control software simulation, control algorithm development as well as implementing control software into hardware platforms
• Experience of working in cross-functional engineering design teams coupled with experience of supporting test and validation activities
• Knowledge of serial comms (e.g. CAN, RS232 etc) would be useful
• Experience of working with sensors, actuators as part of a control system would be preferred
• Experience of developing control software for automotive systems would be useful, although other electromechanical control systems experience would be fine (e.g. rail, robotics, machinery, etc)
