Scientist – Genome Editing

We are actively recruiting for an enthusiastic and tenacious Genome Editing Scientist on behalf of our client, to work on specific projects to understand and produce a range of cell types / cultures for R&D activities.

This is a hands-on position and will involve the use of a range of gene editing techniques including CRISPR, SiRNA and shRNA together with transfection and electroporation cell maintenance techniques. You will also be responsible for:-

* Culturing and maintaining embryonic and pluripotent stem cells

* Using a variety of molecular biology techniques including DNA / RNA / protein extraction, electrophoresis, PCR, RT-qPCR, Western-Blot and associated software packages / design tools

* Characterising expressed edited cells using immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and microscopy techniques

* Understanding potential process issues with assays and troubleshooting accordingly

* Creating detailed reports for others to understand and refer to

succeed you will need a BSc / MSc / PhD in Biology (or associated subject) together with proven demonstrable experience, ideally working with iPSC lines.
