School Finance Manager

Salary: £26,000 – £30,420 per year

Custard Recruitment are currently recruiting for a School Finance Manager to work in a lovely small oversubscribed school in the South of Warwickshire.

Under new leadership, the school is looking to secure future development opportunities and are seeking an experienced, dynamic, professional to help facilitate these opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have extensive finance and business management experience within a school environment and hold a finance qualification, with experience of using Sage.

Main Responsibilities:

* Management of cash reserves and the preparation of cash flow forecasts.

* Ensuring that proper books of account (including income and expenditure accounts and balance sheets) are kept and that reports of the material and financial affairs of the academy are produced to the Governors.

* Advising the Governors on general financial policy.

* Annual estimates of income and expenditure to include the preparation of departmental budgets within the academy and longerterm forecasts of income and expenditure.

* Monitoring income and expenditure in relation to the annual budget and presenting regular management reports to the governing body.

* Keeping analyses of costs and other statistical reports.

* Preparing financial appraisals of particular projects.

* Fixed Asset Register.

* Ensure robust financial controls and procedures are in place and that the academy complies with regulations and procedures within the Financial Handbook.

* Liaison with internal and external auditors.

* Facilitating staff pay roll and pay progression.

* Issuing and updating staff employment contracts.

* Meeting the financial reporting needs of the ESFA, DfE, Companies House and FGB.
