Finance Manager

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Finance Manager for a truly global FTSE 100 service organisation in Manchester. The business has grown year on year through acquisition and organic growth and boasts a very healthy turnover and profits.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Financial Operations, this is a key senior position that will be tasked to review, analyse, challenge and develop the reporting processes coupled with involvement/Finance lead of a variety of Finance projects.

Key duties of the role:

* Manage the provision of quality monthly and quarterly Balance Sheet reporting, providing detailed commentary and variance analysis. Challenge significant variances across teams to improve understanding and review.
* Identify and implement improvement opportunities within the legal entity reporting processes.
* Build relationships with internal stakeholders across the business and provide them with specialist advice to help resolve reporting issues
* Ensure legal entity reporting has appropriate financial controls and processes in place and support their risk and control appetite.
* Prepare and review statutory accounts for the entities being the main contact point for external auditors.
* Execute oversight and challenge of Legal Entity Finance led projects to ensure these are implemented effectively and are adequately controlled.
* Engagement with senior management and Executives across Finance to support world class Statutory and Balance sheet reporting
* Develop and improve enhanced Balance sheet reconciliation analytics MI to support Balance Sheet reporting
* Working with the Change and Delivery team to deliver larger change projects into the business supporting legal entity reporting
* Ad hoc support as requested by the Head of Financial Operations

The person

The successful applicant will be a fully qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) either making their first move from practice (from within the financial services team) or with experience of working in the financial services sector.

You must have an in depth knowledge of statutory reporting and prior experience in preparing of statutory accounts under IFRS. In addition you will have proven experience of process improvement within a Financial Accounting environment and experience of working with complex systems and large volumes of data.

Due to the multi-faceted nature of this position it is necessary that the successful individual has skills in influencing at senior level, managing deadlines, timetables, multi-tasking and priorities.

In a workplace where teamwork is essential, excellent people skills and the ability to influence are a must. Likewise, proven experience of managing and developing a small team to drive business performance is required.
